Oh Venexiana….  Last season you were amazing…. So much that I bragged to everyone how amazing you were showing what felt like a million dresses, all of extreme detail and delightful colour palette.  Now this season, not sure if her core customer or focus was red carpet or prom, but needless to say i was slightly unhappy and a little bored.

Don’t get me wrong the dresses were plenty, almost 80 of them.  However I’m doubting that we needed to see the same dress in 10 different shoulder styles, or in 7 different fabrics.  Most of the shows Ive attended this season have all separated themselves from mass marketing by being innovative and not being one note throughout a presentation or show.  Venexiana I think was coming from the high horse of last season and might have gotten stuck as she galloped over that last hurdle and stumbled a bit.  Although mostly grand detail and execution but just too much of it.
Now that Ive gotten my dismay out of the way I will say there were several moments that had the crowd almost at their feet.  One being a lace floral cutout gown that was backless as well as the beaded dressed that were held together in the back by a single slanted strand of beading.  Venexiana clearly has a STRONG cult following so I’m eager to see the next collection, as it can only get better.  This was one collection that made me wonder if too much of a good thing is possible.  Possibly so….
