Gowns, Gowns, and MORE Gowns. When you walked into the presentation at the Box Space in Lincoln Center today that’s clearly what you were going to get.  Elegance, Detail, and Volume.  Farah Angsana was the designer featured and you could easily see her hero du jour Valentino played a large part in her techniques yet her own energy and direction is what steered this collection to the victory I’m sure she felt was gained.

The detailing in this selection was so intricate and ornate one had to be completely jaded not to walk away inspired.  What I appreciated from this collection was that although there was a ton of dresses, it wasn’t just about a pretty dress as seen in some collection.  There was a fresh take on most, so it wasn’t as if you saw it already or were getting the same thing eight times remixed.  Every length was used, from floor sweeping beaded pieces that must have been started when the last collection ended as it was that intricate, to knee length cocktail whimsical pieces that had details that were almost jumping off of the fabrics.

I think it also important to mention that the casting was brilliant as well.  The selection of girls were perfect for the viewing.  Fitted to a tee, bare minimal styling allowed the collection to speak on its own with out having to use tricks and celebrity gimmick.  This is one collection that i think fared very well being shown in a presentation stance as it allowed itself to be seen up close and personal and it was worth the stare.  I look forward to seeing what Farah has coming up next, maybe even a chance @ Valentino perhaps; but don’t say you heard it from me, lolol.
