Raw beauty, and genuine sensitivity. If the Cardela Spring/Summer ’13 ever held a physical manifestation it would definitely be a soft delicate woman, appreciative of the simple things in life, more so of the floral spectrum of life. The collection held an effervescent feel, that resonated throughout the construction of the collection’s design and presentation. The collection included silk ensembles of enlongated measure, lace and knit tops of peculiar tailoring and shorts, welcoming a season of comfortable wardrobe and simple design, yet complex construction.
Gabriela Perezutti understands the definition of presentation, as the overall motif of the collection was distributed throughout every aspect of the preview, from music to fragrance where the Studio was pleasantly filled with aroma of a freshly watered garden. The artist in me found pleasure in the imagery used to further enhance the theme of the collection, richly infused with floral decor and sun kissed fabrics, richly saturated of bright pink, magnolia yellow and white hues. Gowns of multi-colored petal patterns were the most illustrative of the collection, but I found solace in the solid colored knit tops that were cropped just enough to add a feminine flair. My personal favorite was a chiffon dress consisting of a three-layer drop, of a warm mocha color reminiscent of the nape of a baby bird’s neck, beautiful I know.
Candela S/S ’13 was conceptually executed well, and indefinitely designed with the Spring season in mind. Soft and gentle colors designated for a collection of loose, yet constructed build. The collection displays Candela’s spirit of youth but desire of aesthetically pleasing clothing. This collection is definitely on my favorite list and is welcoming to the Spring season and all of its splendor.
