I believe my color savvy eyes, were satisfied tonight by Ms. Nicole Miller’s festive Spring/Summer collection.  Tardiness affected the initial start time of the show, but who better than Nicole Miller to arrive fashionably late. The front row glammed with beauties Ashley Tisdsale, and Alexis Bledel really gave an indication of just how big this show was. The lateness definitely did not affect the 80’s-esque funkiness of Miller’s collection. Inspired by vintage biking attire, Miller has taken the idea of biker chic to another level. While the explosion of colors were enough to brighten up the darkest corner of the venue, Miller’s consistent mark of the popular checkerboard print add the biker dimension she needed to drive the collection home.

While the pieces served much amusement, I really found the accessories and shoes of the models to be very surprising. Miller’s use of patent leather bags with neon strapping or a purse with a bright cherry red embellishment. Miller’s collection reminds me of my three-year-old brother’s 64-crayola pack, as the colors became a staple of the collection as it progressed. One of my favorite pieces has to be the silk ties that are worn beautifully with the color contrast of the all over biker print. I find a woman in a tie very striking so Miller’s girls in ties motif really worked for me.

One of the least favorite aspects of the collection was the biker pant, which held both enhanced front and back pocket detail. The pants were very similar to sporty athletic pants which would have taken the couture design away in my opinion. The concept of the pant delivered, but became unsettling as I saw variations of the pants color wise. The show was one great party with energetic music, fierce models I was quite surprised the audience refrained so well from jumping on the runway. The final highlight for me was definitely the talent Nicole Miller waving to the crowd, very pleased with the response of the audience. Another show down, are you still with me? Try to keep up!
