Hot for Fall or not? After previewing Farah Angsana’s collection on the second day of Mercedes Benz Fall Fashion Week 2011, I say perfect (for some) but only for the holidays. The assortment included fox furs (coat, vest and a wrap-around boa,) lots of crystals and of course silver and gold chain embroidery which were reminiscent of the Dynasty days a.k.a. Alexis Carrington.

Perfect for the party gal, Angsana, who is a bridal and eveningwear designer, introduced several dresses bedazzled in rhinestones, beads and sequins; most of them ultra-short (perhaps the models were too tall?) several in shimmery black, a teal/silver as well as a red/gold combination. Thankfully shoulder pads were not included but we did notice and loved the plunging backs.

But the highlights of this show was a simple, sheer navy blue gown that would be fit for a princess; the gold lame mermaid dress was definitely Oscar material a la Catherine Zeta Jones. Also a hit was a plum toned floor-length halter dress with cinched waist, does it come in other colors? The best part of the selection of cascading gowns is ideal for women of all shapes and sizes while at the same time sexy, chic and elegant.

The finale was a show-stopping white corset strewn with hanging feathers – the gown was quite over the top but fashion should be fun, so why not start in the bedroom.
