Hmm well this was an interesting line. In all honesty… over all I didn’t get the concept of this collection. Although there were three dresses that I Ioved; for the most part I made no real connection to the line in full. It was like sitting through a story that neither you nor no one you know could relate to. I am guessing the audience felt the same way because when the best evening gown I have ever laid eyes on appeared on the stage; the crowd busted into applause… the gold dress for the win!
Like, Kati Stern could have scrapped the whole line, and just sent out the one dress that can make any woman feel like freshly printed money. If I had that gold dress on right now, I would know how winning the lottery feels like. Having that dress would mean having everything, but nothing at all…an “Important Nobody”. Gosh, I want that dress! It made me forget about anything else that was sent out from backstage. Maybe that was the story; create one amazing dress, then 47 other dresses that pale in comparison to make the one dress stand out?! Hmmm… well that plan worked well, lollll.
You all know what’s funny?! That gold dress might very well be the best evening gown I have seen under the tents from any designer during Spring 2011 MBFW. So, although this post appears to be a negative review… it truly is positive. Better to have one dress that is unforgettable, than to have 48 looks that you forget as soon as you walk out the tents.
Dear Ms. Stern: The gold dress was the equivalent of you making the basket at the final second to win the game. Good job. -KittyBradshaw.com
Below are pictures from the show; pay attention to the red sequence and the poka dot dress.

Where are the rest of the gowns? I though that her collection was quite comprehensive, It seemed to me like her inspiration was a series of events that The Little Mermaid would have to attend in her life and how to dress accordingly i.e, Prom, Black Tie Gala…. I know how that may sound but I mean in a very feminine way. Examples:The red gown with the black bow, the mixed fuscia ballgown(not shown in your series of pictures)…although the gold floor-length you spoke of was a one of the best, she didn't miss her mark at all. Yes, there were a few dresses (The depressing black garb with blue appliques and the other dresses that were supported with tool) that should have been thrown out, however, I personally look forward to seeing how this will translate into upcoming spring fashions, if at all.
I only posted my favorites. However, all of the dresses are shown in the video. Also, I actually sorta liked the black sequence gown… not my style but it wasn't horrible. What do you think about the poka dot dress?
