MBNYFW: Yoana Baraschi S/S 2011

As most of you know, this Fashion Week marks my second appearance under the tents (Yes, you can still refer to me as a newbie).  Yoana Baraschi marked the first time I had ever attended a Fashion Presentation (verses a runway show) during Fashion Week.  I, also might add that this was the most professional presentation I have ever attended.  The models where living mannequins; Yoana picked the best statuettes possible for this sort of thing.  The ladies took on the personality of the clothing while posing in front of the lense.  They played up to the camera, and their eyes gave us life.  Kudos to all the models for a job well done.

Yoana Baraschi’s line gave us all the things that manifested Spring….fun, flirty, and timeless.  I saw pieces that created the scene for love at first sight, to the first date, to “I am coming over to bust the windows out your car”, to “I plead not guilty, your Honor”.  Awww spring, when flowers are in bloom, love is in the air, and restraining orders are issued.  The only outfit that was missing from the collection is a pair of sweat pants and t-shirt from when you’re sitting in front of the TV crying your eyes out watching Lady and the Tramp after finding out he decided to get back with his ex.  This presentation was better than any movie or novel; clear, concise…these clothes told a story.

The line showcased soft feminine details from the intricate embroidery to the, pearls and breezy dresses.  All of the detailing and patterns were very involved with the possibility to create a very smart/ finished look on any woman willing to accessorize properly.
