We had a destructive love.  When I was with him… it felt like he was my air and I couldn’t breathe without him.

…and we went through some bad shit.  We were two wounded birds that came together, and he was the only person I had that was more fucked up than me.  I didn’t have to pretend or be embarrassed about my situation… he was right there going through an equal amount of self conflict… we came together based on that.

One day I woke up and decided to stop romanticizing him.  He was no prince charming… he caused me a lot of pain.  But my heart refused to let go of the blinders so my BRAIN took over.  I, then, demanded closure and was able to let go of that period in my life.
