Monique Lhuillier NEVER disappoints.  Did i say EVER!?!? Well i meant it.  Her take on fashion is so grand that one could have a complete closet full of her collection spanning her career and have everything necessary, including the basics.  Today Monique’s collection was shown in the Theater section of Lincoln Center to a busting at the seams standing room barely crowd and I’m sure everyone will agree that this has to be one of the best shows of the season.

The collection was so good that ill start at the end of the show with my favorite- the voluminous yellow mermaid hemmed gown. If drama had a sir name, i think it would be Lhuillier.  That dress was everything, leaving no detail undone, all while not needing to do too much.  Before the yellow dream came down the runway there was a blue paint splash gown almost of the same persuasion, but different in execution thats sure to see a red carpet or three.  What makes the Lhuillier brand so appealing to the masses is that she seems to know a woman’s body and how to accentuate the necessary.  From the outlining of the curves, which were clearly celebrated by the materials of choice, some being a leather coupled with a corset effect was simply genius.

The usage of reds, yellow, black and blue with a slight fuchsia was a great deviation from the onslaught of pastels this season.  However with a designer this good I’m sure she could have made camouflage look amazing.  I always look forward to viewing shows at the Theater in Lincoln Center, but you know when you watch a Lhuillier show its in the theater for more than just space accommodations.  The show deserves a Tony, Oscar, and any other accolade deserving of a great show.  And to that i scream BRAVO!
