NYC Activities: TCM Classic Film Tour

TCM Classic Film Tour

TCM Classic Film Tour2Prior to Fashion Week (before my life got consumed, lolll), I had the opportunity to take the TCM Classic Film Tour in Manhattan.  Everyone that knows me can attest to me being a total classic film buff.  I spend hours watching the Turner Classic Movie channel.  Imagine my excitement when I learned that I would be attending this tour, and seeing the locations that played an intricate role in some of my favorite classic films!  The tour ran approximately for 3 hours, which covered various neighborhoods in Manhattan.  One of the many things that was cool was the interactive portion of our trip.  Not only was video provided on the bus, we also made stops and were able to get off of the bus and get up close and personal with some of the filming locations.  My personal favorite was the subway cover where Marilyn Monroe stood and had her white halter dress flooded with air from the oncoming train.  I got to stand in the very spot and take pictures.  You can all imagine how tickled I was to do this.

Another cool stop on the TCM Classic Film Tour was the brownstone where Breakfast At Tiffany’s was filmed at.  If you are a fan of the film Breakfast At Tiffany’s… I can not begin to describe how special I felt standing in front of the Brownstone.

During my time on the bus, we also got to chat with other classic movie fans.  I met a couple who took the bus in from Baltimore just to take part in the TCM Classic Film Tour.  They rode 4 hours in, and as soon as the tour was over went straight back home. I call that dedication 🙂

I don’t want to give away too many details, but I can say it was well worth it to participate.
