Hello Black Shoes With The Gold Straps,

We’ve never met but my name is Kitty, Kitty Bradshaw. Currently I can’t afford you, you know with the recession and all, living in New York, the cost of gas, etc. At night, tonight I will dream of you…. While Terrell Owens and I are role playing and he has me bent over in the buff… I will have you on my feet. Occasionally I will look up into the mirror on the ceiling… and admire you. *sigh* Well, I have to go now and prepare for the Crooklyn Dodgers Concert. Maybe we will see each other on the street in passing one day!

Kind Regards,

Kitty Bradshaw

Chinatown raids in NYC today!

June 23, 2008

Chinatown raids in NYC today! (again)

June 23, 2008

This is your amateur news reporter Kitty reporting the news as I see it happen. The Chinese was getting hemmed up on the curb today in Chinatown (Canal & Centre St.) wearing what appeared to be some very attractive shinny wrist cuffs.

I for one am shocked that the merchandise being sold at these Chinatown Upscale Boutiques have been discovered to be fakes. The Dirty Harry’s had them lined up next to what appeared to be a mass amount of Designer Un-Originals.

I witnessed one Asian American woman going off in her Native tongue…*shrugs* why fight it? You do the crime you do the time and anything you say or do will be held against you in a court of law *shrugs*

Kitty says: AY’ Yo Dirty Harry Officer, Sir… can I get one of those Foo-uii Vutton bags over there… *shrugs* their not gonna miss it… they’ll be to busy pleading their case to the arresting officer.

Well that’s all for this edition of “New Yorkers Get Arrested Too!

I’ll be back next week with my expose on why people buy fake bags trying to keep up with the Joneses.

-Best Regards, Kitty!

Positive Post: Who Is Your Master?

June 22, 2008

Kitty’s Sunday Positive Post: Who Is Your Master?

Note from Kitty: Aiight, so for those who don’t know me I do Bible Study every Sunday. It helps me to stay grounded. On this blog I will post about many different subjects and my faith in God will be one of them. Yea yea, I know I am a big ball of confusion… never perfect but striving to be better…

Today’s lesson is about Who or What you are submitting yourself too. Today I learned that who or whatever you submit yourself too becomes your master. So first you have to ask yourself who or what are you waking up for every morning.

Speaking for myself I was definitely a slave to anger this past week. I become a slave when I decided to quarrel with a so called friend instead of realizing that person was never a friend and walking away. I became a slave when I chose to become upset and start complaining when I found out my job was taking advantage of me. It’s not wrong to become upset… it was wrong for me to linger in it instead of taking it like a woman and proceeding on to handle my business and take the next step which is find a new gig.

God and I were conversing this morning and I told him I now truly understand the metaphor of “God is my Shepard and I am part of his flock”. As a human… speaking for myself again I stray so easily away from my master. I let my anger take a hold of me. I submit myself to it and the anger becomes my master. In the future I will learn to try harder not to give into negativity.

God is my Master and my greatest challenge is becoming submissive. Fortunately for me, God is an expert at handling Fiesty Black Women, lolll.

Below is the Bible Scripture that went along with this lesson.

Please read the Bible for your own understanding. Not according to someone else’s interpretation of it.

First Day of Summer

June 21, 2008

In honor of my first New York summer….

Ode to New York Men…

Kitty’s has 10 Nice things to say about New York Men…

1. Their accents and slang

I swear I turn “giddy” on the inside every time I hear “Yo, ma or Yo, mami” Actually anything after the word “Yo” from a NY man gets me going lolll

2. They know how to carry themselves as gentlemen.
Despite what everyone thinks all gentlemen don’t reside in the south…
Coming here I have experienced men opening car doors for me, pulling my chair out, buying flowers…

3. They are so fucking arrogant…
…and don’t even realize it. You bound to cuss one out, then have a huge fight, then have some angry arrogant make up sex later lollll

4. New York has some of the best looking men in the US…
Yes, this is purely my opinion and I stand by it so that makes it fact!
I’m sorry…even the ugly ones look aiight. I’ve traveled throughout the US and I am not saying cute men don’t reside in other places or that they don’t have ugly dudes who live here… but the ugly dudes usually stay hidden here… NY got everyone beat.

5. Their Aggressive/ Alpha male spirit…
Even the shy ones are aggressive. Hell *shrugs* even the ones that ain’t about shit talk a good game.

6. The Summertime…
Whew…. for those that don’t know… you better come here and visit to find out. Cause when them NY dudes come out dem layers…. yes yes… I know that happens everywhere but not like here.

7. Is it me or do everyone got a hustle going in this bitch??!!!
I swear…. no, 4real everyone I have talked to got some form of a hustle going on. (except for William… his hustle seems to be continually calling my ass after I told him to stop smmfh) They make it do what it do. I think hustlin originated in NY.

8. They so fucking passionate about everything…
I mean they could be talking about scrambling eggs with an apron on… and they explain it to you with intensity. It makes you wanna be apart of the egg making process. They make you question everything you know about scrambling eggs loll.

9. This my be debatable but I find the men here to be well read unlike any other place I’ve been too. It’s not just a self righteous book smarts like they think they better then you for knowing some shit (I found a lot of that in the DC/Maryland area)…. New York men seem to be more then happy to share their knowledge. I’ve never seen so many men in one place read books. Not shitting on my Cali dudes… but if 30% of men read books in Cali on the regular… I find 75% to do it here.

10. The men to chick ratio is like 5 to 1
The fact that I moved here in October and met my boyfriend (now ex boyfriend) a week after I moved here say loads. For those of you who don’t live here… the mayor issues you a freak as soon as you move in, lolll. Even though we not together anymore for circumstances beyond our control… I still got nothing but love for NY men…

Juneteenth: The Day The Slaves were freed

June 19, 2008

I feel it is my responsibility as an African American to comment on this holiday.  From what I hear it’s not socially acceptable to comment on slavery.  I think this is the one topic we all are suppose to pretend didn’t happen.

I come from a long line of Madison’s; direct decedent’s of President James Madison’s slaves…. he/ his family were my family’s physical master/ owners.  My family was his “PROPERTY”… unfortunately he didn’t live long enough to hear my ancestors say FUCK YOU on the way out the door.   That information has been passed down within my family from generation to generation. Not many blacks know who the owner’s of their ancestor’s were.  It’s not really a benefit; it just makes it harder to not be angry because you have a face.

Juneteeth is a day to acknowledge those who didn’t have a voice.  Those who were kidnapped, tortured, molested, raped, sodimized, hung, beaten, ENSLAVED, and the worst of all their identities and culture were erased!

I don’t hate white’s… through God I am taught to love and to forgive. Hell, I am a successful, young, black woman… what do I have to be mad @ whites about?  I am living the American Dream.  Then again, I am living the AMERICAN dream… I wonder what the dreams of my ancestors were?!

Change begins with the seed of vision planted into the mind of a hard head.

Vice Afterwork Thursdays

June 18, 2008

Not much to say on this one it was ok. No! I don’t think I will be back.

It wasn’t bad or anything it’s just the crowd was to young for me. Yea, they had a couple of the late 20’s crowd there but for the most part it was early 20’s either that or West Indians just look good for their age lolll. I would recommend this club for my male friends looking to party due to the fact that there was an abundance of beautiful island women there.

Drinks… hmm I can’t remember if they we strong or not… so due to the fact I can’t remember that’s a good sign.

Ok I changed my mind I would go back if there were no better options…. but only with a group of people. Not just my girl and I… but a group! There is strength in numbers!

Ok so on a grading system I give Thursdays @ Vice grade: C+

Sundays in Bklyn: Habana Outpost

Ok I love Habana Outpost! I love the crowd…. I’ve never really eatten there, and their drinks are ok for Sunday’s… not to strong for those who have to get up the next day before work.

Every Sunday I get my clothes ready for work at 3 in the afternoon… then 7pm I hop on the G train to Fulton street and hang out on the outdoor/backyard patio and watch the B movie of the week. They show such classics as The Last Dragon and Do the right Thing….

The movie last from 8-10pm… and the outdoor setting reminds me of a family reunion. Picnic tables and drinks out of Picnic cups. Everyone is talking… quoting scenes, flirting with your neighbor at the next table. It’s a real chill vibe!
