I’ve been having the best summer EVER and it was only right that I end the season with Saratoga Horse Racing. Over Labor Day Weekend, I had the opportunity to participate in an event I’ve ALWAYS wanted to attend — A Day at the Races. America’s Best Racing was kind enough to invite NYC-area bloggers to Saratoga Springs for #TogaTrip. The group of bloggers and journalists boarded a bus to Saratoga Spring, NY bright and early this past Saturday morning. Dressed up in our derby best–donning dresses and fabulous fascinators–we were ready to experience a day of Saratoga Horse Racing festivities.
Once we arrived, we were greeted by America’s Best Racing Ambassadors–Dan Tordjman & Victoria Garofalo. We dined on a delicious brunch and listened to Taylor Rice speak about her life as a newbie jockey. She gave us some insight on her decision to join the horse racing ranks, sharing her family’s history in the equestrian sport.
After the couscous salad, crab rolls, macaroons and peach bellinis at brunch, we made our way over to the Saratoga Horse Racing Course. America’s Best Racing set us up with the PERFECT view of the track! It was like being courtside at a basketball game. In between watching the races and mingling with other bloggers, we made good use of our paddock passes. We met some of the horses, snapped a couple of selfies/usies with them and headed back to our private area to place a few bets.
I’m not really a betting lady, BUT what would I look like if I went all the way to Saratoga Springs and didn’t get in on the “#BetOnIt” action? After three bets and $15 spent, I didn’t win anything. (That’s probably because I chose horses based on the names I liked! Lol.) However, there were a few lucky people on the #TogaTrip who left the race course a little bit richer.
Although I left without winning any bets, the #TogaTrip was the best ending to a summer of wins. The day was beautiful and excitement was in the air. (We even scored super cute GO!SAC packable bag sets and beauty products from Susan Ciminelli). The ABR crew was so welcoming, resourceful and accommodating. I’m definitely looking forward to the next ABR/NYRA Saratoga Horse Racing adventure! 😉
