This Henry Ford Museum Gift Shop article should have probably been the last in a long series of Detroit related post from my recent travels. I am too excited over my new coffee mug, and simply had to share it with you all in order to focus on my other articles!!! If you all follow me on The FaceBook or Twitter, you might have seen me put out a call for coffee mugs. I am a coffee drinker who has never owned her own coffee mug. Yes, I have had mugs but someone has always bought them for me, or they were given as swag. I wanted my own coffee mug; something that reflects my quirky personality.
The Henry Ford Museum Gift Shop introduced me to my current new fav! Walking in, I literally had no intentions of purchasing a mug or any of the other items I went home with for that matter. I walked in with the intensions of buying a t-shirt; what I walked out with was my new Monopoly Coffee Mug, Sea Salted Caramel Fudge, a Henry Ford Museum Gift Shop magnet, and a postcard. SERIOUSLY, they had a ton of cool stuff in that museum store. Kudos to whomever the buyer is; they clearly didn’t want to be just another gift shop with a bunch of junk that will sit on your shelf and collect dust. The only issue I see is you can’t purchase the coolest items online. *shrugs* Maybe they save all the good stuff for actual visitors in order to lure you in. I will say that it’s a trip worth making especially if you’re a nerd, gamer, “Geeky Chic”, or humble history buff. The Henry Ford Museum Gift Shop is a place for the “thinkers” to shop. If you have a chance to visit the Henry Ford museum, be sure to check out their awesome gift store.
