Let me just start off by saying that this by far was my favorite show that I have seen during New York Fashion Week Spring/ Summer 2013.
I actually didn’t know what to think about this show, I honestly never heard of this designer before, so I felt as if I was walking into this experience blind. Originally I held a standing position which can be a little upsetting because I feel like you don’t get as good of a look at the garments going down the runway as a person in who sits closer to the runway because it normally sits closer to the ground.. So by surprise while walking into the Studio and seeing a platform runway I was excited because I felt she was thinking the same thing, and this was her gift to everyone, it was like she was giving all her onlookers an equal opportunity to see her work. Another good thing about this show is, since I was one of the first people in line for the “standing” crowd, I was able to score an empty seat in the second row! I know, be jealous.
As soon as the first model walked down the runway I was captivated and already knew it was going to be a phenomenal show. The collection gave off an “Old Hollywood” vibe, with beautiful tailoring that complimented women’s natural curves. Her color palette consisted of natural colors like black, white, cream, sand, red, silver, khaki, and forest green. Her pallet also flattered her fabric selection of satin, silk, chiffon, silk crepe, leather, and jersey. Very mature and luxurious. What I loved most was that this collection was something that could be worn by women of all ages and still look good. And you know miss thing proved it to us by having fashion legends (Yes, you read correctly . . . FASHION LEGENDS) such as Carol Alt, Alva Chinn, Carmen Dell’Orefice, and Karen Bjornson, grace her runway! That concept is something that I as well as the rest of the on-lookers, who continuously gave the seasoned models round of applauses, truly appreciated because you don’t see many collections that go without an age limit on an entire collection.
From high waist pant suits, to body hugging dresses, to full on gowns; each pieces was spectacular. Overall I will give Norisol Ferrari an A+ for her work. She absolutely has a collection that is “Ready to Wear!”
