New York Charity: Angel Street Thrift Shop #KBBlog5
Angel Street Thrift Shop, ‘the most sophisticated thrift shop in town’, was present this past week at #KBBlog5 the 5 Year Blogiversary for Kitty Bradshaw of www.KittyBradshaw.com. This event was held to honor Kitty Bradshaw’s success but it also served as a networking opportunity as it was RSVP only and featured many of the who’s who in New York City’s blogosphere. There were nearly 100 stylish ladies and gentlemen present, including models from Jag & Co. With all the festivities taken place, guest had the opportunity representatives from the Lower Eastside Service Center who spoke about their cause and Angel Street Thrift Shop.
More than just a cause, Angel Street Thrift Shop’s proceeds benefit the innovative programs of the Lower Eastside Service Center. The center is dedicated to improving the lives of individuals and families affected by Substance Abuse, HIV/AIDS and Mental Illness. Established 16 years ago, Angel Street Thrift Shop allows shoppers to make top quality purchases and give back at the same time.Upon visiting the shop, you realize that it resembles a high-end boutique.
Guests who approached the table were given information on shopping as well as making a tax-deductible donation. All sponsors of #KBBLOG5 brought something different to the table and guests were eager to support the efforts of this particular cause. Consignment shops have become a trendy first stop for most shoppers but Angel Street Thrift’s longevity and charitable efforts separate them from the pack. From sending children to summer camp to assisting expectant moms with drug treatment, Angel Street Thrift has made their mark as a worthy cause to support.
