Gossip Girl Season 6

Hey House Cats-

As I write this eulogy, I am overwhelmed with emotion.  It has been exactly 24 hours since the popular CW series paid it’s final adieu to the fashionable elite, mean girls, and headband aficionados. Dearest Gossip Girl… we loved you!  For most of us, there was a small piece of us in each character that we related to during various points of our lives.  Even Georgina’s scheming weaved it’s way into our hearts.  She was like a dysfunctional family members that we wish we weren’t related to, but accepted unconditionally.

Blair

Blair Waldorf was my favorite character on Gossip Girl.  She was a girl who dreamed.  Yes, I am sugaring over all over her transgressions… she was not perfect, but she was always fashionable and had it all.

Serena

Serena Van Der Woodsen…. the heaux with a heart.  Her vagina had no mystery…. but we loved her because if put in her shoes, we would have slept with Nate Archibald and Dan Humphrey, lolll.  She had her pick of the litter, bottomless bank account, and private jet to boot.

BlairSerena

Blair and Serena: Two fabulous best friends.  We all went through the ups and downs with them.  When they fought, the fans took sides.  One thing is for sure…. nothing was right until they made up.  It was always better to be friends, than enemies.  They were sorta like Paris and Nicole…. but remained friends.

Lilly

Lily Van Der Woodsen… the anti-MOM.  She caused more trouble with her good intentions then the law allowed.  She made having an ankle bracelet trendy.  When I met her in person during Fashion Week S/S 2012, I referred to her as my mom, lolll.

U154P5029T2D535020F28DT20121207102711

Chuck and Blair:  Cinderella and Prince Charming they are not…. but they gave us hope in our own personal dysfunctional relationships.  Unfortunately in the real world those types of relationships often don’t pan out.  However, through Gossip Girl we were able to dream.  My only grips was that the wedding was rushed!

Where The Vile Things Are

Dan and Serena: Hmmm… I am not sure if I was ever a fan of this couple.  Once Dan slept with dirty Vanessa, he was damaged goods in my book, lolll.

Revengers

Dan as Gossip Girl:  Hmmm… I guess it made sense, but personally I never gave it much thought.  I always thought that Kristin Bell would come out of a secret attack somewhere and make a fabulous appearance.  I am glad they included her in the flesh on the final episode.

Nate: I hate he ended the series single. Elizabeth Hurley should have made a return.

Rufus Humphrey: Who did he end up with?!  I guess he couldn’t have ended up with Lilly since Dan and Serena got married.

Jack Bass and Georgina Sparks: They would have made the perfect couple.  Georgina was bored in her marriage anyway…. they should have wrote in a divorce in the script.

Taylor Momsen

Awww Little J: Yes, that her complete name “Awww Little J” lolll.  We missed those dark raccoon eyes of hers.

oTTo

Georgina’s baby:  Did she eat him? loll

New York, I Love You XOXO

Juliet: I sorta missed her… although it was a relief to see her stop trying to ruin Serena’s life.

Well this concludes my final thoughts and feelings… I am going to go cry in my cocktail.  I refuse to delete the final episode off of my DVR… too painful to let go.  Farewell, my dearest Gossip Girl. :(

Kitty’s Gift Guide 2012: Best Buy for Him

BBforHim

Hey House Cats-

This post marks my 4th and final post for my Holiday Gift Guide series with Best Buy.  I had an awesome time going into the store and trying out all of the various products for men, women, children, and teens.  My final gift guide is dedicated to the men in our lives.  I enlisted the help of my friend, Zillz of Mandommag.com.  He picked out several items that he wanted for himself for the holidays, which are listed below.  I hope that his selections are helpful on your shopping adventures :)

Insignia - 46

Insignia™ – 46″ Class (46″ Diag.) – LCD – 1080p – 60Hz – HDTV

So the first selection on our holiday gift guide for men is a Insignia 46″ Big Screen TV!  I don’t know a man on this earth who is not stimulated by a larger than life tv. Even if they are not big tv watchers…. they like to have one to show off to their friends.  If you are shopping for your father or husband go ahead and make them they envy of all their friends by purchasing them an even bigger tv.  The goal is to fully cover the wall, loll.

Pioneer - 1100W

Pioneer – 1100W 5.1-Ch. 3D / Smart Blu-ray Home Theater System

The next selection is a Home Theater System… this goes hand and hand with the previously stated larger than life flat screen tv.  Men tend to buy these two items before they invest in furniture.  As a matter of fact they will sit on a low end bean bag while watching sports on a top of the line entertainment system. I know, I know… there is always exception to the rule.  However, if your budget allows, go ahead and purchase this system.

Nintendo Wii U Console

Nintendo Wii U Console

OK, soooooo…. if you have the larger than life flat screen tv, and the state of the art home theater system…. the next stop is the latest and greatest in Game Consoles.  Note: Don’t forget to buy a game.  WiiU is the latest contribution from Nintendo.  It was just released on November 18th.  The last I checked, they were still very hard to track down.  If you can find one, GRAB IT!!!!!

Canon - EOS Rebel T3i

Canon – EOS Rebel T3i 18.0-Megapixel DSLR Camera with 18-55mm Lens – Black

The next two selections are wild card items that stray away from building the ultimate entertainment center.  This particular item is the Canon T3i DSLR camera.  This is the perfect tech toy for men who seek adventure outside of the home.  TIP: If you buy this camera, go onto Groupon.com and purchase a activity voucher to partner with this camera.  Your guy will appreciate having an excuse to get out and use his new camera immediately.

George Foreman Grand Champ GR36P grill

George Foreman Grand Champ GR36P grill

Our final entry into our shopping guide for men is the George Foreman Grand Champ. George Foreman Grills are to men, as designer handbags are to women.  I don’t know a single man who doesn’t own a George Foreman Grill.  TIP: If your guy already has one… open it up and see if it’s clean.  If it has caked on juices from meals of Christmas past, buy him a new one.  This is the perfect gift if you are on a limited budget. You can’t go wrong with a inexpensive gift that men love.

Well that concludes our list of mandatory man toys.  Thank You again to Zillz of MandomMag.com for sharing his selections with us.  We hope that at least one of the above items will make the man in your life very happy :)

Kitty’s Gift Guide 2012: Best Buy for Kids!

BBforKids

Hey House Cats-

Today’s gift guide is dedicated to all of the children on our shopping list.  Although, I often refer to Best Buy as a toy store for adults… they do indeed have a wide variety of items for kids.  Below are gift suggestions for kids from infancy to age 10.  All of the items that I selected are educational toys, with the exception of one.  I personally believe that toys should be both fun and educational.  As always, I hope that the below suggestions help make your shopping experience easier through selection.

Vtech - Cogsley Learning Robot

Vtech – Cogsley Learning Robot

The first items that I selected is the Cogsley Learning Robot.  This item teaches children their letters, counting, words, feelings, and manners.  It keeps children entertained with 6 different interactive modules.  Your children can insert tokens to activate the LCD screen.  Additionally, sound can be turned on and off to prevent parents from going crazy (they will thank you for this), lollll.  This toy is for kids ages 3-6.

First & Main - 1965 Witherspoon

First & Main – 1965 Witherspoon 10″ sitting – Soft Brown

This little guy is so incredibly soft.  This is the perfect toy for the very young.  Maybe a “1st Christmas” gift or an expectant mom close to delivery.  Who can resist a cuddly teddy bear?!

John N. Hansen – Conector Learn Your World

This is a board game for children ages 5-11 designed to teach kids about the world around them.  It includes 8 illustrated sheets, with 352 questions.  This type of game is sure to help get children to the head of their class.

[big-sep]

Melissa & Doug - U.S.A. Map Wooden Puzzle

Melissa & Doug – U.S.A. Map Wooden Puzzle

Puzzles never get old in my book.  They are designed to teach, sharpen, and strengthen minds of all ages.  Our final gift guide selection for kids is a a puzzle to teach kids over the age of 5 about the United States of America.  Specifically it goes over the Capitols, State Flags, Birds, Mottos, and Population.  I think this is a MUST for all children.

I hope that my selections were helpful…. Happy Shopping :)

Kitty’s Gift Guide 2012: Best Buy for Teens

BBforTeens

Hey House Cats-

This week’s holiday shopping guide will be centered around teenagers.  Of course all of the below mentioned items can be found at my favorite electronics store, Best Buy!  In my opinion, teenagers are super easy to shop for… reason being, most of them know what they want because they are following the trends that their friends and schoolmates are into.  Now what sucks as a teenager is that people tend to buy them what they think they “need” vs what teenagers actually “want”.  When shopping for the teenagers in your life, you need to make the decision of if you want to buy them something practical or something that will make them love you for life…. or at the very least until next Christmas, lolll.  I hope that the items below are helpful…

RAIDERS FOLIO CASE

All kids need to be taught that the Oakland Raiders are the greatest team in sports history.  Tribecca Products has made it easy for gift givers to point youngsters in the right direction…. the way of the Raider Nation.  I love this iPad case, that prominently displays the shield that represents the commitment to excellence.

iHip – New York Giants iDock Speakers

One thing I know to be true is that teens love their speakers.  The next two items will be dedicated to just that.  We will start with this iDock that you can plug in your iPhone, iPod, or other MP3 player (check compatibility before purchasing).  This would be the perfect gift for your teens room of office space.

5909103_ra.jpg;canvasHeight=500;canvasWidth=500

Beats By Dr. Dre – urBeats Earbud Headphones

Mostly every teenager that I know own earphones.  It is a necessity along with a cell phone, and UGG boots, lolll.  Beats by Dre earphones are the most expensive coolest earphones out , and most coveted amongst teenagers.  You can’t go wrong with a pair of these.

Kitty’s Favorite 20 Blogs of 2012

KittyBradshawNoBackground

Hey House Cats-

So I get asked often what Blogs do I read outside of my own.  To stay current, I read a lot of Blogs… but there are a few that I read mostly everyday for news and entertainment.  The below blogs are the ones that I spent the most time on this year.  Check them out, and let me know which Blogs you frequented this year :)

1. Necole Bitchie- I do read her site everyday and comment.  I get my daily celebrity gossip fix from her.  I have been reading her site for years, and look to her as my “Fairy Blog Mama”.  When I purchased my site, I looked to Necole for Blogging advice under her Urban Blogger site.  Fun Fact: Through that site I met all sorts of new Blogging friends whom I remain in contact with to this very date such as Odara and Marleaux.

2. Dr. Boyce Watkins: Your Black World …. what started out as as an underground newsletter has become more mainstream.  I almost feel guilty talking about it publicly, loll. I don’t want the online publication to lose it’s rawness.

3. AOL/Yahoo News: I love news.  It is important to me to be current on what is going on in the world.  I read these sites daily.

4. The Cubicle Chick:  Danyelle is my Honey Boo Boo, lolll.  I love her Blog!  She blogs about work, St. Louis life, family, kids, BLOGGING! She is an all around girl Friday!

5. The Gothamist: This site ROCKS!  This site is a must for all things New York.  One of my personal highlights this year was when they referenced one of my post.  In my opinion it was a huge honor.

KarenKlopp1

6. What2WearWhere.com:  This site is AMAZING!  Karen comes up with outfits to depict every possible situation in life.  If you have the pleasure of meeting her in person… you will see that she is extremely fashionable.

7. OSoChic.com:  Style Mavens Melanie and Melissa give their fashion tips and picks on their Blog.  Not only are they talking about fashion, these ladies know the history of it.  They can track down any fashion item you seek.

8. HerGoodyBag.com:  Janique is the most stylish school teacher I have ever met in life!  Every time I see her I wonder how she manages to teach all day, grade papers, and pull off the perfect outfit.  Check her out…

9. Make-up by Kim Porter: Beauty is her name.  Kim makes getting glamorous everyday with a husband, and 1 year old look easy, lolll!

kittytineey

10. Tineey.com:  Christine’s awesome pictures along with her amazing sense style makes her blog a must see!  She is often featured on the top sites, and partners with a lot of awesome brands.

11. Pix11.com:  This is my favorite channel for tv shows and morning news.  Pix11 is supportive of Bloggers, and very hands on when it comes to Social Media.  I think of their blog as a companion guide to their show.

12. lover4FASHION YouTube.com:  I love the various hair v-Bloggers.  My favorite is lover4FASHION!  Her hair tutorials are amazing.  I learned how to use flexirods through her videos.  She also covers fashion and makeup… you all should check her out!

13. TalkingWithTami.com:  I like her site a lot.  It is like the Atlanta version of mine except she has lot more cool things going on in her life which includes a husband, home, and kids, lolll.  *sighs* One day I will be like her…

14. Sandra Rose:  Sandra also writes celebrity gossip… but she is the polar opposite of Necole (in the sense of being the anti-christ, lolll).  I find myself clutching my pearls, and clutching my teeth while reading Sandra’s post, lolll.  I like Sandra because she has remaines true to herself and has become successful behind it.  In life, people always try and mold you into what they think you should be.  It is always encouraging to see people who go against the grain bka Sandra.

15. Swa-rai Blog: My other Honey Boo Boo, lolll.  Raijean… the queen of Chicago talks about lifestyle and mommy hood in Chi-town.  Her confidence and zest for list exudes through her daily post.  Check her out…

Kitty’s Gift Guide 2012: Best Buy for Her

Kitty’s Gift Guide 2012: Best Buy for Her
Kitty's Gift Guide 2012: Best Buy for Her

Hey House Cats-

Today, I am going to provide you with gift suggestions from my favorite electronics store, Best Buy!!!!  This particular post will focus on, “Gifts for Her”.  Speaking for myself, the women on my list tend to be the most difficult to shop for.  It takes me extra time and energy brainstorming the perfect gift for these ladies.  Below is a list of 5 of my “favorite” personality types, and possible gifts to purchase for them.  Hopefully you will be able to identify with at least one of the below personalities, and use one of my gift suggestions to purchase for her.

Note: Click on the names to be directed to their individual information and purchasing page.

Kitty Bradshaw’s Gift Guide 2012: Nordstrom

Hey House Cats-

Tonight’s featured retailer is Nordstrom, the focus of our gift guide.  I have been shopping at Nordstrom since before I could remember.  When I think of Nordstrom, I think quality and exceptional customer service. I have never had a bad experience, or a mediocre one for that matter at their department store. Below, I focused on shoes, and 1 men’s dinner jacket.  Nordstrom also boast their on line of shoes called, GLINT.  I purchased 2 pairs recently, and have included a picture of one of the pairs below.

Lastly, if none of the shoes below strike your fancy, feel free to explore gift cards as an option.  One thing I like about Nordstrom gift cards is you can purchase them online and they can be used both online or in their store.  I was amazed at how I was able to pull up the gift card on my phone and have the cashier scan the barcode at the register.  This is one of the best retailers for gift carding.

COACH ‘Andrea’ Sandal

This is the first time I have ever liked a pair of COACH shoes.  They are always so tacky and over the top with their “C’s”.  Depending on the comfort level, I might purchase these.  I think these are pretty amazing and recommend them for the designer divas on your list.  Clink the link for more information and pricing.

Vince Camuto ‘Lexis’ Pump

I purchased a pair of Vince Camuto booties during Fashion Week.  They are extremely comfortable.  The above heels are extremely feminine.  The silver detailing give them a bit of edge.  I would wear these while shopping with the girls.

Steven by Steve Madden ‘Astrro’ Peep Toe Pump

Clocking in 5 1/2 inches, these high stems will provide extra support and comfort with the platform bottoms, and ankle support.  I have never owned a pair of Steve Madden shoes, but decided to include them to represent the lower price points.  This particular pair comes in several colors and patterns.  I chose the Cheetah PONY since animal prints are the current trend.

Salvatore Ferragamo ‘Faraone’ Cap Toe Oxford

Since there are quite a few male supporters of KittyBradshaw.com, I am trying to incorporate more male items.  Also, in most cases women do the shopping for men… so here a pair of Salvatore Ferragamo oxfords at the recommendation of GQ magazine.  To be completely honest… I am no good at picking out menswear.  I hope you like my choices.

Gant Rugger ‘Black Watch Tux’ One Button Blazer

I love, Love, LOVE this dinner jacket for it’s unique pattern.  Also, it gives you a good excuse to break out your flamboyant bowtie lollll.

Kitty Bradshaw’s Gift Guide 2012: Louis Vuitton

Louis Vuitton
Louis Vuitton

Louis Vuitton SAUMUR MM

Now personally, I am against rocking labels.  I believe that unless you are Naomi Campbell get paid to represent a brand, there is no need to advertise.  However, for Louis Vuitton I make exception.  I love the quality of these bags, and they make the perfect gift to YOURSELF, lolll!  *shrugs* I feel like you appreciate them more when you buy them for yourself.  Even if you are a man (see below)…. I find that Louis Vuitton products make great gifts to yourself after accomplishing both minor and major milestones in your life.

My current bag crush is the Saumur bag, which comes in two sizes.  The MM is the small size and the GM is the large.  Note: Normally, I gravitate towards the larger bags… but the Saumur GM reminded me of a small duffle bag.

Porte Documents Voyage GM

Men:  New job?  Promotion?  You surviced a rough day?  or Christmas?  This is the perfect gift to yourself.  Click the link above for ordering details and pricing.

Kitty’s Gift Guide 2012: Roberto Cavalli

So the story behind this intoxicating scent is simple… the day after Thanksgiving, my friend Jakora and I were inside of The Cheesecake Factory waiting to be seated.  A woman walked behind me, and without even seeing her face, I smelled her perfume and it was so good I turned around to see who it was.  So I immediately said, “God she smells good”.  She overheard me and I immediately asked her what her fragrance was.  Of course she responded back with Roberto Cavalli.  Based on the encounter, I am including it on this year’s Gift Guide.

Exuberant and sunny, this ambery-floral fragrance first alights with pink peppercorns, an exhilarating note that exudes a strong sense of character. Vibrant and mesmerizing from the very first contact, at its luminous heart one finds all the majesty of orange blossom absolute. Sensuality then wraps itself into an ultra-feminine trail with the tonka bean, a captivating aromatic that leaves an appetizing imprint on the skin.
The bottle’s artistic line recalls the voluptuous curves of a sensual woman. Crowning the perfume, Roberto Cavalli’s golden seal rests regally above the wild tiger stripes that wrap the flacon’s neck, a hint of the designer’s emblematic use animal prints. The solid glass base evokes the strength and the power of the fragrance’s character.

Notes:
Pink Peppercorn, Orange Flower Absolute, Mirabelle Plum.

#ToyotaWomen: California Dreams Pt 2

Previous article: #ToyotaWomen: Charting my Journey

On Sunday, September 30th, Twenty-Four women descended upon Santa Monica, California to meet one last time for a Toyota “Glamping Trip” at El Capitan Lodge 20 miles outside of Santa Barbara.  The first leg of our trip started off in Santa Monica at the Lowes Hotel, where we checked in, freshened up, and set off for dinner at the posh Penthouse Restaurant in the Huntley Hotel.  Members from Team Toyota and Clever Girls dinned with us, and gave clues as to what lied ahead for our “Glamping Adventures”.  There, with the harvest moon as our backdrop… we dined on brochette, shrimp cocktail, salmon, steak, chicken, and some sort of chocolate confection.  My cocktail for the evening was a “Blueberry Lemonade”.

Later we were shuttled back to the Loews where we enjoyed a view of the poolside and ocean waves from our hotel suite.  I was so exhausted from my travels, I forgot to take pictures of the room.  The interior of the room reminded me of old Hollywood.  It’s retro interior design could have been a scene straight from the movie “Key Largo”, with Bogart and Becall staying in the room right next to mine.  After research, I learned that the hotel was built in 1989, and boast 342 rooms.  The hotel was recently remodeled in the last few years, and as a guest I can honestly say I enjoyed the best night’s sleep ever!!!

Upon our return from our Glamping Trip, we were shuttled directly back to the Loews, then dispatched out to LAX as our individual planes arrived.  While waiting, Team Toyota treated us to lunch at the Ocean & Vine Restaurant located inside of the Loews Santa Monica Beach Hotel.  The food there was pretty damn tasty!  I had the Scallop Salad, Fish Tacos, and Peaches n’ Crème Brulee.  My drink of choice was a glass of Clifford Bay Sauvignon Blanc 2011 w/ a screw top, loll.  I learned from one of the Bloggers that most wines from Australia have a screw tops?!  In any event, I rather enjoyed this wine and will look into acquiring a case of it.

Below are pictures from my experience at the Lowes… I hope that you all enjoy :)
