Leaping into a New Apartment

The next leap in my life is to move into my own place and find a new job… in that order, loll.

So I have lived in New York going on 4 years now and it has been one roommate after another due to the high cost of living.  I am finally in a position to get my very own spot, and I am type excited!!!!  As I am typing this post I am going through the process of packing.  At night when I close my eyes, doubt attempts to seep into my mind.  Although, I have lived on my own in other states… I have never done it in New York.  Although, my living expenses will go up slightly… it will be worth having the peace of mind of coming home and not having to worry about the mood of the other person you share space with.  I have been blessed to have had some great roommates in New York, but it is time to do my own thing.

So, right now I am plotting my Bachelorette Pad.  I seriously suck at decorating, but every week I’ve been purchasing pieces for my new place.  For example, I’ve been going to thrift stores’ purchasing vintage hand bags from the 50’s and 60’s to hang on my walls.  Now, I am focusing on the dining area… I love to entertain.  I found these champagne glasses at the West Elm store that I am currently saving up for purchase.  I think I am allowing myself to be influenced by Mad Men, The Great Gatsby, and The Mack.  I want my bachelorette pad to represent:  Young. Modern. Flamboyant. Drag Queen. New York.  My new place will help me leap out of my shell and come into my own.  I am so excited!!!!

Concurrently, I am also looking for a day job with benefits.  Although, I am moving into my own place I am also thinking long-term in regards to moving out of New York.  I love New York for the purpose it has served, but I know that I do not want to be here forever.  I want to aggressively start saving for my descent into another state.  I don’t know where I am going… but my time here is coming to an end.

My life is so blessed… most of my dreams have come true.  Leaping has never been a problem; it’s the landing that has always been my issue.
