Spa Week: Hot Mom’s Edition
OK… I am so behind with writing post due to my laptop monitor dying on me, and traveling from coast to coast. Well, even though I am a day late and a dollar short… I want to take the time with you all to share my experience.
On Monday, September, 26th I attended the Spa Week Hot Mom’s event. Although, I am not a mom (actually I am, click here)… I do have quite a few moms who read my Blog and are interested in people, places, and services pertaining to them.
Who: The Real Mom’s of NYC
Where: Spa Merge, 102 W. 57th St, New York, NY 10019
Why: To promote Spa Week, and to make sure the people who need it the most, “moms” know about the hot new spas and treatments available to them.
First let me start by raving about Spa Merge…. I am totally in love with this place. Upon leaving the event, I immediately started tweet about the most incredible eyebrow arching and facial I have ever received.
EYEBROWS
OK… so the ongoing Twitter discussion is, “Would you pay $36 for your eyebrows to be arched”? In all honesty, prior to going to Spa Merge I would have said, NO! However, after receiving the best shaping of my life… I am proud to admit that I would go back and guilty splurge for this service.
Vicky Langer, the Wax Specialist/ Aesthetician worked a miracle on my eyebrows. Prior to coming into the spa, I had tried threading for about two months. A week prior to going to Vicky, I stated to my co-workers, “I hate the way my eyebrows look”. In that moment, I vowed never to have them threaded again! I then decided to let them grow out for a month or so, and get them done on my birthday. Needless to say my brows were in horrible shape. Vicky accepted the challenge and created a natural looking shape that complimented my eyes and face.
Note: My eyebrows above are a week old after the service.
FACIALS
Unfortunately, I didn’t take a picture of my skin after the facial… but I did enjoy the service. I fell in love with Mariana, also an Aesthetician. She did a skin analysis and gave me the honest truth… which wasn’t as bad as I initially thought. Normally, when I go in to have a facial I get this doom and gloom report. I always find it strange that whenever I go in for a facial, before they even touch my skin they say a lot of negative things to say about my skins condition. I get facials done regularly, but the facialist have been known to make it seem like my skin is going to fall off if I don’t come back and visit their spa every other day and buy their many products. I ABSOLUTELY HATE WHEN THEY DO THAT!!!!!
So anyways, Mariana was the bomb and I would definitely go back to her.
THE EVENT SCENE
Guest sipped on Cocktails by Martini and Rossi while listening to DJ Jasmine spin out the hits. For the most part we did a lot of networking while enjoying the plethora of services offered that evening. NYC Socialite Bloggers, @DadaRocks and Tineey were in attendance. Tineey was suffering from a mild sinus attack, but managed to make it through the evening. Little did we know this would be the final few days before she went BLond BOmb SHell on us!!!!
Also, in attendance was new friend to KittyBradshaw.com, Kimberlee. We first met Kimberlee during Fashion Week, and now we see her everywhere. The Kitty Bradshaw looks forward to future run-ins.
Well that is all for my recap. See below for event photos and feel free to leave me a comment by answering the question, “Would you ever consider a $36 eyebrow shaping”?
