RIP Steve Jobs 1955-2011

Back in my school days, I took a creative writing class. During the course of the semester, our teacher taught us how to flush out thoughts, feelings, and ideas to unclog the creative flow. I do not own any Apple products… but someday I might. I am the last of a dying breed who is slow to take on new technology. I remember a time where there were no cell phones or computers. However, even thought I am a living time capsule… I want to take the time to acknowledge Mr. Jobs.

Last night I was attended a media event for Spa Week, with journalist and Bloggers alike. The news of Mr. Jobs passing spread like a virus across the room. Anyone who has had the misfortune of watching someone grow through the final stages of a terminal illness can surely relate when I say, “I knew you were sick, but I didn’t actually think you would die.”

I woke up this morning, and again, although am not an Apple supporter, felt a deep sense of loss. With that loss is a flood of emotions, thoughts, opinions, questions that can’t quite come out onto keypad. So, at this time I will revert back to what I know… below is a writing exercise dedicated to Steve Jobs.

modern day GENIUS. INNOVATOR. I feel LOSS. you were a FIGHTER. BRAVE. you were bigger than the BODY you were in. TEACHER. you didn’t just color outside of the box… you helped create new more efficient ones so that we could download APPS into them. ARTIST. PIONEER. LIGHT. you shared your GIFT. *shrugs* maybe an ENTERTAINER. PROMOTER. COLLABORATOR. INVENTOR. REBELLIOUS. OBSERVER. FATHER. HUSBAND. STUDENT. LEADER. LEGEND. rest in PEACE.

You will not be forgotten…
