In this episode of “New Yorkers Get Arrested Too” we have a “chatty” stabber who got annoyed at the workers in a local Queens deli and decided to stabb them (while on camera).
I seem to recall in a previous post about NY men being passionate… and this footage backs up my point.
Questions for the New Yorkers… is there a difference between a Bodega and a Deli? I notice on the news sometimes they refer to local corner stores as Bodegas and sometimes Delis. They both serve sandwiches, meats, cheeses, and boxes of tampons… *shrugs* so what’s the difference?!

Oh my Lord. *sidebar: I am tripping of the citizen with the missing bottom teeth* I don’t think there is a difference. I call them what they are…corner stores!

Bodegas are in the hood……..LOL.
There are a couple of other differences, but that’s basically it.
Check out this hilarious video.

Oh, okay. *had brain fart* I am not a New Yorker either. So you guys are saying that Bodegas=corner store=in the hood? And “Deli” is a corner store in a nicer neighborhood? All I know is that in Texas and in Tennessee, there are’nt any corner stores in the nicer neighborhoods. They are all in the hood. All in the hood with their “rip-off” pricing!!

a bodega can have a deli in it (for makin sammiches and whatnot), but bodegas are str8 hood, whereas delis are usually in Manhattan, where the white people are.
you will never get a sammich at a bodega that cost more than $5.
you will always see sandwiches at a deli that cost more than $5.

Bodegas are owned by latino cats; i.e. puerto rican, dominica etc. You’ll know ’cause all the folks that come in might call the guy behind the counter “papi” or “mammi” if its a woman. Bodegas may have foods and bevergages that cater to people from the carribean and such, like plaintains or baccaloa salt fish and Malta drinks and Bodegas ALWAYS got mad loud merengue or salsa music playing, no matter what time of day. And Bodegegas never gove credit unless your latino. Delis on the other hand are usually owned by arab or middle eastern dudes. Delis might also sell magazines. Delis sometimes give you credit if you go there all the time. Delis and Bodegas sell hero sandwiches and candy and are both in the hood.

Lmao! This is a topic often discussed on the block (the bodega vs. deli not the stabbing on or off camera).
The debate continues…

Bodegas are in the ‘hood, Deli’s are in the city… (unless it ‘looks’ like a bodega then you call it a ‘bodega’). A bodega usually has a yellow sign w/ red or black writing, shabby windows w/ detergents in them, and/or posters or signs saying they ACCEPT WIC…
