New York: Splashion Soirée

This past Thursday I had the pleasure of attending the Splashion Soirée held at the APART Showroom in Chelsea.  The event was hosted by fashion stylist Kimmie Smith, Editor in Chief of Kitten Lounge.  Before I review, I must remind people I am just the everyday shopper with no real experience in fashion.  The Kitty Bradshaw, will give it to you plain and simple, loll.  In all honesty, I really enjoyed the APART collection.  APART created some key pieces that could transition from day to night.  Take for example the Sequins Jacket…. I love, love, loved it!

I think the above jacket can be worn in so many ways, with so many different pieces.  With the state of the economy, most of the women I know shop for pieces that can work  well with other items in their closets.  I think APART did a great job in honing in on what real women want.  The Sequins Jacket was just an example of the many pieces that the brand had to offer.

Other looks that stood out were the tunics, and what I like to call the “Sultry Middle of the Summer Dress”.  It’s funny how no one ever recommends a long  flowing dress as a “must have, staple piece” in a woman’s closet.  No two Sultry Summer dresses are constructed the same. When you find one that not only hugs, but forgives in all the right places…. put a ring on it, lolll!

OH… one more dress I had to mention was the LBD.  The above APART LBD is the perfect blank canvas… and you all know I love to go overboard with accessories!!!!  This dress would do me just fine
