Hey House Cats-
As part of the Best Buy WOLF program, I recently had the opportunity to try out the Cuisinart Griddler- a 5-in-1 countertop unit that works as a contact grill, panini press, full grill, full griddle, and half grill/half griddle . The griddler is stainless steel, so it pretty much went with most of my kitchen appliances. Additionally, Hillshire Farms sent over food vouchers for me to try out their products on my new grill (THANK YOU!!!!). I will start out by reviewing the features individually, then end with an overall assessment bka my opinion, lolll.
BELOW ARE THE THINGS THAT RAN THROUGH MY MIND AS I PLAYED WITH THE GRIDDLER….
So the Contact Grill is basically when you close the lid down on top of the food. I refer to this as pressure cooking, my favorite method of cooking. I have no patience, so the faster the better. Soooo, YES! I used the contact grill on sausage dogs, lolll. *shrugs* I am a New Yorker, we are always on the go. This feature was pretty cool.
UMMMM, I don’t really eat Paninis; but in my mind the Panini Press is the same thing as the Contact Grill. Like, they essentially do the same thing, right?! HMmm… maybe the Panini Grill sets to a higher temperature?! In any event, if you love the Contact Girl, you will LOVE the Panini Press
FULL GRILL/FULL GRIDDLE/ HALF GRILL/ HALF GRIDDLE
Well that’s all essentially the same thing, right?! Either you want to use the whole skillet or half of the skillet…. at the end of the day it is all the same skillet.
So, I am going to ask you all to work with me as I take you on the journey of me processing what I learned about this appliance. Please also remember that I am a New Yorker and we tend to hate everything until it makes sense, lolll. So in all honesty I hated this appliance before I pulled it out of the box. I thought to myself, “This monster is going to be yet another item taking up space” lollll. It took me a while to getting around to using it… this whole process was like an arranged marriage, where I ended up with the ugly sister, lolll. However, just like in the movies…. I grew to appreciate and love her.
So the Cuisinart Griddler is compact in size…. this is perfect for bachelors, college students, non- cooks, people looking to downsize, and New Yorkers with smaller apartments. Now even though I fall under the New Yorker with a small apartment category- I am someone who likes to cook and has a kitchen full of professional grade pots and pans. So although I referred to it as a monster for its size…. It was more so me being lazy and not wanting to make room for it in my already bursting at the seams kitchen. In actuality, the size is perfect! You can easily store this appliance. I placed it on top of my mid-sized microwave, and used it.
The stainless steel color is awesome and super easy to clean both inside and out. Now I know we often hear that things are “easy to clean”. Let me tell you…. I own a rotisserie oven that is a real bi%$h to clean! It is so difficult to clean, I barely use it. So with this Cuisinart Griddler, guess what??!?! It was so easy to use and clean…. I used it a second time, lolll. *sighs* YES! Cuisinart won me over
Ok, let’s talk about the individual functions. To be honest here… the 5-in-1 is really 3-in-1, lolll. But, that doesn’t take away from the beauty of this appliance. I think Cuisinart should know that with all of the features that they listed…. I started to feel overwhelmed. Sometimes less is more, and in this care less was MORE. I think that Cuisinart should promote this appliance as follows:
Cuisinart Griddler - The appliance that keeps on giving. The wow factor in your kitchen. It will make your pots and pans feel 2nd best“
Again, if you fall into any of the following categories: bachelors, college students, non- cooks, people looking to downsize, and New Yorkers… the Cuisinart Griddler will be perfect for you. It takes away the need to use anything else…. including your stove. The price point is $99.99. You can purchase the Cuisinart Griddler here.
