Kitty Bradshaw attends gdgt

17

This past Thursday, gdgt held an east coast launch party and meetup where their sponsors demoed new products to the gdgt members.  This all took place at Manhattan Center’s Grand Ballroom in New York.  gdgt is a technology site and/or Social Network that links its members through the gadgets they own.  Basically, you register and add the gadgets that you own and connect with members through the common items that you share.  It’s kinda like your own nerdy support group, loll.

The Kitty Bradshaw had a blast!  If you missed the event, this post will make you feel like you didn’t miss a beat.

As soon as we arrived, each guest received a t-shirt and a drink ticket for the ceremonial punch stand.  The liquor was flowing and strong.  gdgt knows the way to our hearts! :)

Another thing gdgt did was come up with the hash tag jumbo tron.  Now for us Twitter-heads… typing in a hash tag is second nature.  However, gdgt made it possible to see our Twitter names is lights.  Boy,  we were like caveman who discovered fire for the first time.  I, like others, stood around the screen waiting for our name to pop up on the screen and take pictures, loll.  (big “L” for losers lolll)

So, when you walked through the door the first booth was BlackBerry.  I am not sure if the new $50 BlackBerry is already out but they showed it and apparently it is only available through The Wal-Mart.

Kodak let the Kitty Bradshaw check out their hand-held video camera and take it around the party to film… I think that was pretty cool of them.  I only wish they were able to email me my video footage to post on the site.  One of my site sponsors gave me a Flip Video hand-held camera Mino HD.  Before attending the gdgt event, I felt like I was pretty awesome until Kodak came along and totally shitted on Flip Share, lolll.  Now, Kodak has my nose wide open like a Spring Bee to a honey hive lolll.  The video was soooo much clearer and the camera had more options.  Yes, I want this… and I shall add it to my Christmas Wish List.  Cost $179.

Next on the list, was the PS3 and Rock Star games booth.  Now, I am not a gamer so I am not sure if they were debuting the game for the first time or just offering entertainment for the attendees.  What I do know is I wasn’t allowed to take pictures of anything related to Grand Theft Auto.  I did get  a picture of the representatives and  a Grand Theft Auto shirt.

Next on the circle of sponsors was SanDisk… I should have found out if they were willing to donate a mini SD  for BlackBerry, lolll.  I need one to store all my wonderful pictures.  I took a picture of some of the SD holders.  I am not sure how that would workout for me since they are so small, I would lose them.  However, I think it’s a cute idea.  SD should come out with something specific to store on one’s desk.

Ok, so the Boxee rep seemed a little annoyed that I asked the question, “What is Boxee?!” *shrugs* I didn’t know… was I suppose to know?! Well, in any event from what I could gather it is a machine that works with your computer and TV to help you catch up on the shows you missed.  Now,  it could possibly do so much more but I couldn’t get any good information out of the rep.  Based on what we know… my DVR does all of that for me lolll.

..and the best accessorized award goes to “Windows Phone“.  This is a woman after my heart, loll!  I love colorful accessories!  Is it me, or does the phone match the necklace?!  Windows Phone should target female fashionistas on the go… I bet they would sell a lot of phones! :)

Western Digital demoed their external drives.  They were small and sleek.  I totally could see having one and placing it on my bookshelf next to my desk.  Starting price point is $99

On the last table I stumbled upon Hewlett Packard.  First, I wanna say I totally missed them on the list of sponsors.  You all know whats  funny?  As many people try to get me to switch over to Mac… I am such a HP whore! Everything I use is HP.  I’m not sure why I am so loyal to them, and it is time to get a new desktop… not to mention I am the only person I know who doesn’t own a laptop.  The very cute rep introduced me to a HP laptop with a starting price of $550.  I don’t know where the yellow computer road will lead me… but it’s always good to weigh my options.

Ok, please don’t talk about me (lmaooo).  Normally,  I have a good memory, but for the life of me I can not remember what fashion designer created the artwork for this HP Laptop.  It hasn’t hit the market yet, and they weren’t even allowed to remove it from its case.  However it was pretty cool to look at.

Well, that’s it for my coverage of the gdgt event.  I look forward to the next one! :)
