I Hate Facebook!!!!

August 18, 2008

I’m sorry, I know it’s mandatory to have a Facebook page in order to draw traffic to your website but it doesn’t stop me from hating this damn site!  I get so frustrated with all the dumb kiddy shit you gotta go through just to network.  I feel like you have to have an master’s degree in computer science and some form of misplaced, unquenched immaturity to grasp the whole concept of Facebook.

WTF is up with this buy a friend, own a pet, kill someone elses pet, kiss request, find out how much you think I’m worth?!  This is the most juvenile bullshit I have ever come across online.  My own personal page is not my own… it’s flooded with the comings and goings of the people on my buddylist.  Facebook is a stalkers paradise.  I don’t wanna be in touch with my damn High School friends!!!!  Isn’t that what class reunions are for????  You see them motha fuckers once ever 10 years… that’s it, it’s a wrap.

I know I am not the only one who has gotten a friends request from someone from the past that you could not stand now they hitting you up thinking you have forgotten about why you stopped fucking with them in the first place.  Now you starring at their request like “Damn, I need to create an alias”.  “Why made this motha fucka wanna find me?!”  “Don’t this bitch owe me money?!”

I feel like I need to light up a joint and consult the chief every time I visit Facebook.  Leave a comment on someone’s wall???!!!  Is that their way of saying leave a message on someones page?!  It’s like the owners of Facebook liked the whole myspace concept and were mad they didn’t think of it first so they tried to come up with their own version of it… it’s like  a super complicated rip off of myspace/twitter/rocket science.

I fucking hate you Facebook!  Every time I attend a blogging seminar I gotta get Facebook crammed down my throat.  My nerves are bad *sigh*…. I need to go “jill Off” just to calm my nerves.

Eww, first off nobody wants to hear about you and your “Jilling off”. Second, you don’t have to add all those things on your page. You’re making more complicated than your small mind can handle.

I don’t have the patience for Facebook… Everyone keeps telling me to make a Facebook page, but I’m sticking w/ Myspace for now.

girl I know facebook is probably a good networking site for blog but I refuse to reopen my facebook…..ugh no! Your right, there is so much shit going on with it now that it’s ridiculous. I barely even go to my myspace anymore, and I don’t have my blog on there either. I have about 100 pages of friend requests and probably 300 pages of messages I haven’t answered. It’s all just getting crazy.

    Darling Kitty -

You crack me up! I feel the same way about all those bullshit “kill a friend’s pet” requests. Facebook is indeed a pain in the ass.

I also love, love, LOVE how, after hatin’ on Facebook, you put your facebook link at the bottom of the post. You are too funny.

And of course you will find a “friend request” from me the next time you log on.

    I guess we don’t hate Facebook THAT much… :)

    XOXOXOXOXO

    Interesting…

But, Facebook was around before Myspace. Myspace passed them in terms of uses because initially Facebook was only open to college students who could verify their email addresses with the university. But after myspace came along and quickly passed them, they began to try to keep up with “the joneses” and thats why the “new facebook” sucks. But you are allowed to deny requests for those “applications” and keep you facebook how you like it. And deny people. Just like in myspace, you can have your profile private to people.

    LOL @ this whole post.

I have a LOVE/HATE relationship with Facebook too. I hate all the “kiddie stuff” that goes on but I’m even more surprised when it comes from GROWN folks.

I’m like how old are you?

I don’t really care for FACEBOOK. I just made a page to attempt to showcase my blog. I like my personal myspace page better.

With that being said, I thought only I HATED that “buy your pet” ish. That is just some soNOTfabFoolishness!

Though I typically hate any kind of “elitism,” I really liked when FB was just a college network…haha

I don’t have the ridiculous applications. My profile is Type A & Plain Jane…and invisible to most people. As a matter of fact, I think I need to go in and delete some of my “friends” right now :-|

Sidenote: I’ll take FB over Myspace any day.

Excuse me but I feel people put too much of their personal information out there, esp on the social networking sites.
I NEVER use my real name on the networking sites - always an alias and even then I include the barest information.
People seem to forget that once you have published something on the internet it is almost impossible to completely erase it from being ‘out there’.
A friend of mine, who knows my views on this, has sent me a request to join her social networking site using my real name!!! Arrgghh! - needless to say that won’t be happening.
People should be careful. I read personal, intimate details about people everyday, where they went to school, dates of birth, telephone numbers, where they work, CV’s, children’s names and dates of birth, etc. It doesn’t take a lot to find people.
I’m not saying be afraid, I’m saying be careful and always use aliases on these social networking sites. The majority of the people seem to be selling or promoting something in my experience.

Umm.. I’m not sure if the above comment was directed at me or her friend but I will guess that it was for her friend since this site is under one of my many aliases.

*thinking* I am glad people feel comfortable enough to come to my site and let it all out, loll.

p.s. If it was directed at me would’nt this go against the blogger unspoken rules of putting “fellow bloggers” on blast on their own site?!

smh… these newbies have so much to learn.

*thinking* this gives me an idea for a new post….

IDK Facebook has been very very kind to me in my various “endeavors” ;) Stalkers, clingy types, and other undesirables just come with the territory. Would you rather no one attempt to friend you or hit you up? I’m sure you’d feel some type of way about that too
