So I am starting a new series called Cocktails and Subways on the site. When I think of Happy Hour in New York, I think of passing out in the train station, lolll. *shrugs* Sometimes we let the Happy Hour specials get the best of us. We leave the bar with good intentions on making it home; next thing you know the comforts of the ground in the subway station appear comfy enough for us to fall out, lolll. Well on a positive note, I would much rather you all sleep it off in the station than to get behind the wheel. So with that being said, I will feature my favorite watering holes from around the city.
This week in Cocktails and Subways: Bourbon Street Bar located on restaurant row in the NYC theater district. I did a review here on the food, and now am featuring the drinks.
Ok, as you all can see I tried several of the drinks… and some I tried two or three times over just to be sure I didn’t miss anything, lolll. So you all already know that Bourbon Street Grill is my new favorite NYC bar and restaurant. I absolutely love their $5 Happy Hour specials that are not only big in size, but strong in taste. The food is also very tasty, but again lets just focus on our thirst.
Bourbon Street Swamp Juice- A sweet swampy mix of Malibu, Vodka, Melon Liqueur, and Pineapple Juice.
Gold Margarita- Jose Cuervo Gold Tequila and Triple Sec shaken together with lemon and lime juice and a touch of sugar syrup served on the rocks.
Bourbon Street’s Famous $5 Hurricane- Light and dark rum, orange juice and pineapple juice with a touch of Grenadine.
I remember trying the above quenching beverages and being in company with good friends. I remember the conversation rolling down my cheeks, and glistening in the low lights of the dim bar. Ambiance…. we laughed, and laughed, and dranked, and dranked, and LIVED!!!! I don’t know the real reason for leaving the bar…. maybe physical limitations or the room started to spin. Gosh, we had a wonderful time. Life was so simple at Bourbon Street Bar and Grille.
In all honesty, I can’t pick a favorite. Next time I venture back, I will try the Dark N’ Stormy. I think that this restaurant is brilliant little jewel. Please, experience it for yourself
