WHAT’S TOULOUSE ?
Cassoulet and Can-Can for a Start
Friday, 11/6/09 Kicks Off OneWeek Promotion
November, 2009 – Featured in the 2010 Michelin Guide, Harlem’s very own French Brasserie, Chez Lucienne, kicks off a week of tastes from Toulouse with can-can music and Cassoulet on Friday, November 6th. As the thermometer begins to drop diners can warm up at Chez Lucienne with Chef Thomas Obaton’s hearty Cassoulet, the famous French pork and beans dish. Other native dishes to choose from on the $24.95 three course prix fixe menu include: Terrine de Foie gras, and Salade de Magret Fume (smoked duck breast magret) as appetizers, Fish Cassoulet, Tomates Farcis (baked stuffed tomatoes) and Canard Confit (duck confit) Entrees. Dessert is a choice between Gateau Basque and Tarte Gascogne.
General Manager Jerome Bougherdani has created a new cocktail, Le Moulin Rouge. Proceeds of sales of the libation through the week will go to benefit the Harlem Cultural Archives.
Chez Lucienne, Harlem ’s new French Brasserie, has been a hugely popular success ever since it opened its doors in February of 2009. The Brasserie/café is historically a place where people of different walks of life come together to exchange ideas, be entertained, meet, and enjoy life over good food, wine and company. Chez Lucienne embodies and celebrates this spirit of food, drink, and camaraderie. The 30 year old Obaton, who has worked in many Michelin starred restaurants in France, brings a mature discipline (and a touch of whimsy) to true French classics such as: Escargot de Bourgogne, Moules Marinieres with Frites, Steak Tartare, oversees a full dessert menu with the likes of: Crepes Suzettes, Baba Au Rhum, Parfait au Café, Chocolate Hazelnut Dacquoise, and other French sweet treats.
