Bloggers Experience at Chez Lucienne

Alain from Chez Lucienne

OH EM GEEE!!!! The food was sooooo wonderful at Chez Lucienne.  They have a new menu with a surge of new taste and flavors.

This past Tuesday, October 20th, The Kitty Bradshaw had the opportunity to host an Bloggers Experience at Chez Lucienne.  Ten successful New York Bloggers were hand picked to attend a Dinner Party sponsored by this wonderful French restaurant.  Our mission was to experience all that  Chez Lucienne had to offer,  and let the world know about it.

Traditionnelle Quiche Lorraine

Traditionnelle Quiche Lorraine

Above is the best damn Quiche I have ever tasted in my life!!!!  I am not sure what that is on top, but it was tasty as hell!!!!  It’s that red stuff they put in salads but it was sauteed and placed on top of the Quiche to compliment the flavor… like who would of thought to saute that and use it to compliment a dish… hmmm, it was damn good!  Now that I am looking… maybe it was red cabbage?!  I am not sure.  In any event, I scraped the plate clean, lolll.  After eating the Quiche, I felt like I never truly experienced Quiche until I had it at Chez Lucienne.

Saumon Fume Fait Maison

So basically, I am a coward loll.  I talk a lot of junk when it comes to trying new things… but “At The End Of The Day” I stick with what I know. I bypassed the frog legs, the snails, the lamb’s leg… and went with the Salmon.  It was very tasty… not the best Salmon I have ever tasted (that award goes to Elizabeth Lounge)… but none the less, it was still very tasty!  It rested on top of my favorite vegetable, eggplant!  It also had a layer of sauteed onions.

Tarte Tatin Et Creme Fraiche

Tarte Tatin Et Creme Fraiche

This desert was interesting.   You all know what this reminded me of?!  Peach Cobbler… but the Apple version.  I think I like the Crème Brulee A La Vanille a lot better.  The Tarte was still good… I tried it to be different.  However, I am such a Crème Brulee whore, I can’t get Chez Lucienne’s version of it out my mind.

This is a fine restaurant, accessible price and location. Well worth the easy train ride. I was pleased to be invited.

That waiter was a master of his craft and when the co-founder, Nadine, talked to us, I felt the warmth. I felt the passion when she said, “When we saw this space open up, we jumped on it and made a Bistro, because that’s what we do, make Bistros” I like that she and her family live in Harlem.

She and Alain have created a few important Manhattan Bistros and I’m hoping Chez Lucienne will be another success for them.

It’s a cozy spot, I love 125th Street, so historic and entertaining.
